So I was able to sneak away last night, CHILDLESS🙌🏻, to the mall to pickup some new makeup. I do like to just order most things online but I needed to see a few things in person. I hit up Sephora first. I went with mission to get the mascara that I was raving about in my Instagram stories yesterday. Here’s what ended up in my bag:
#1. Go Big or Go Home mascara || Yessss, I got it! So if you don’t know me, I am a crazy mascara tester. I think I have about 10 different ones upstairs in my makeup bag as we speak! I received this as a sample on my last order and am OBSESSED! I’ve been wearing this one for maybe 4 or 5 days now and have not had any running….even through a workout too! This one’s a keeper.
#2. Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact || I needed a new bronzer stat. I’ve been self tanning with this 2 hour express tan and I do not like to put self tanner on my face…just the thought of brown in my pores, yikes! I was looking for something light and not sparkly. So far I’m not 100% with this one. It was pricy ( by Laura Mercier), BUT these usually last me a long time. I actually went with a semi dark looking shade, 03 bronze, and I do actually have to layer it up still to see it. I could possibly just need a better brush, but we’ll leave that for another day. The jury’s still out on this one.
#3.Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer || So I was on the hunt for a new blur stick and I ended up with this. I have to say, this is right up there with the mascara…LOVE IT! Such a good primer + instantly smoothes your face….magic! This will be a new staple for sure.
#4. Needles no more, NO MORE BAGGAGE eye de-puffing gel || I received this as a sample last week, so I’m still in test mode. So far I like how it feels and it primes well for under eye concealer. Does is de-bag?…I can’t tell yet, BUT I do have terrible bags and dark circles, partially due to poor sleeping and maybe just old age haha! Time will tell…
#5. Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate || I also received this as a sample last week. I am a sucker for anything that claims to reduce wrinkles! I swear since turning 40, I’m just falling apart…..so give me ALL the anti aging stuff! So far I like this and I’m hoping it does what it claims to do. It is pricey, so for me to buy this it has to be good.
Next stop was M•A•C Cosmetics. My go-to for some of the makeup items I’ve been using the longest. I needed a re-stock in some some things, but this is what I ended up leaving with:
#1. Shape + Shade Brow Tint in color Fling || This is not new for me. I’ve been using this color as a brow filler forever in the twist pencil but switched a few months ago to this one. My eyebrows are thin and was at one point considering microblading but decided against it….I don’t think I want to commit myself to having to keep up with it [$$$$] and if I stopped I don’t think I could deal with a faded looking brow tattoo on my face. This pen has one liquid end to draw and thicken and a powder sponge end to fill and blend, its takes a few minutes and no biggie to keep up with this.
#2. Eyeshadow in color Orb || This is another oldie bud goodie! I use this color as my base shadow everyday. Never cakes and is great under other colors to hold them in place.
#3. Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy || This was a whim purchase. I was looking for something that would complement this staple lipliner in color Whirl. I did check out the Whirl color lipstick and it looked too dark, so I opted for a lighter color.
I also was able to snag 3 samples!
#1. Prep + Prime Fix+ || I was excited to try a finisher, except this isn’t quite what I thought it was. It’s more of a hydrating primer spray that you can spray on afterwards too, but I think I like it more as just a priming spray after cleansing.
#2. False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara || This was also in my sample bag but I haven’t tested it yet. I do like the wand and with a name like “False Lashes” I have high hopes!
#3. Strobe Cream || So I has no idea what this was. The sample said Pink Strobe, so I had to check the website. Its a glowing cream that you can apply under or on top of your makeup to give your skin a “glowy” appearance. I did try it under makeup and yes, it does what it says! I like it & will continue to use the whole sample.
You made it this far!! Any of these products staples in your routine? As always, I love suggestions for new items too! Enjoy what’s left of your weekend😘
